Does any one know of anything that can be given to a bitch to make her more interesting to dog for mating?

    Regards,
    Val

Sometimes a female will have a low grade infection, or possibly isn’t ovulating and the male won’t touch her.
Most males tend to know when the time is right. Now whether they can get the job done, is another thing.:-)

I’ve come to find out that if you have a female who you want to be bred but you also have a male that’s been around her all the time she’s not wanting to breed with him but if you take her to someone else’s male , you will see a big difference she can’t get enough. At least that’s the way my female is. She won’t breed with the males I have unless I hold her, but i can take her to a male she dosen’t know and she’s ready .

One thing to consider: When a female in the animal kingdom is looking for a mate, she chooses the biggest/healthiest/most colorful/etc… Perhaps she isn’t “physically attracted” to your other dog.

My really close friend is a breeder. Her female and male are around each other all the time, and they breed just fine. That is so interesting that your dog has that quirk. Do you have any other advice to share with other breeders?
