I am so sorry for the ignorant, uneducated comment from the previous post “This is a blessing” I happen to breed this wonder breed of dogs! She most likely had a silent heat, usually after they are 2, there heat is regular.

Hi Svenga,
I have been breeding for many years now, and highly recomend a whelping box. Is she in one yet? If not now is a good time to get her used to one. EVERY, dog has a motherly instinct to be in a cave like place. (holes in the ground, dark closets) After delivery as the puppoes nurse more and more a hormone is released that causes a protective mode. She will not like the dad around the puppies until about 3 1/2 after when she does not want to nurse the puppies any more. Also while puppies are nursing do not let her outside to play. She will carry bacteria on her paws and if she rolls on the ground she can get infection in her milk. For the first 3 weeks only let her leave to use the rest room. P.S if she sleeps in bed with you, she will try to have the puppies in your bed!

A female in labor can have a temp drop for 3 days and be fine, BUT if she is panting a lot and try’s to push at Anytime and in one hour has not had a pup you NEED to take her in for a C-section. I had one female who did that and If I didnt take her in, the vet said I would have lost her and the litter. Good Luck.

Thanks SO much for responding to my question! Well she is still stumping me! She doesn’t look like she took except her nipples. I don’t no. I cant feel any puppies, she doesnt like me feeling around. She should be have them in about 2 weeks. I am still stumped. Thanks
